While politics is not really my thing for several reasons I keep to myself, this year's election and results thereof, will surely be a part of high school and college history lessons in the year 2032  --  that is, if the world as we know  --  still exists.

Never before in my lifetime have I witnessed such a frenzy of opinions, and voters, when it comes to making a choice in 20 days.  People who have not cast a ballot since the Kennedy assassination are clamoring for the opportunity to make their voice heard.

Early voting will commence on October 22 through November 2 at the Angelina County Courthouse Annex (606 East Lufkin Avenue) in Lufkin, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.  Applications for ballots by mail have a final deadline to be received not later than October 30.  The mailing address is Thelma Sherman, P.O. Box 908, Lufkin, TX 75902-0908.  Election Day is Tuesday, November 6 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

For those registered voters in Zavalla, Diboll and Huntington, the Angelina County Tax Assessor's office at 634-8376, will be able to provide you with voting locations.
