Have you heard about the Red Ribbon campaign?  It gives people the opportunity stand up against substance abuse.

National Family Partnership sponsors the Red Ribbon week celebration, while the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council works to maintain community awareness through October 26.

The campaign began in '85, and it's the tradition of displaying the red ribbon as a symbol, rather the beginning to the end, in creating an America which is drug free.

Spreading the word to young people, and explaining the dangers of recreational drug use, in addition to handling the pressure associated with drug use and abuse, is the message to be conveyed here.

Need to order your red ribbon?  E-mail kimsimmons@consolidated.net, or contact her by the old fashioned method of telephone, at 634-5837, extension 221.
