We're still kind of broiling in the heat this time of year, so when it comes time to play golf after a week long battle at the job, it typically gives way to a few cold ones resting comfortably at the bottom of the cooler.

Hey, before you light up the grill, it's time to celebrate the legacy of former Lufkin Panther head football coach, John Outlaw, who passed away in December 2011 at the age of 57.

With football season almost here, the 2nd annual John Outlaw Memorial Golf Tourney takes place at Crown Colony Country Club on July 27 and 28.  It's a two man scramble which includes a cart and prizes being awarded for the top three teams.

All proceeds from the tournament will benefit student-athletes at Lufkin High School, and if you need more info, then look no further than our very own "Big Nasty", Gary Ivins.  On the air weekday afternoons between 12 and 2 right here on The Classic Rock Station, Q107, and streaming on line at Q1077.com.
