East Texas has an American Idol finalist, and she's headed back to her hometown for a Saturday press conference and performance.

Woodville's Kree Harrison advanced to the Top 3 this week, and will film the hometown episode tomorrow.

Woodville Mayor Ben Bythewood told KTRE that the press conference will be at Woodville's First United Methodist Church in the Family Life Center at 8 a.m. on Saturday. A parade follows that at 10 a.m. on Highway 190, from Kelly Boulevard to Charlton Street.  The American Idol cameras will be following her all day, capturing footage for the upcoming hometown episode.

And she'll sing!  She'll do that later in the afternoon at Ford Park on Interstate 10 West in Beaumont.   That starts at 3:30 and admission is free.  Other Texas bands, and perhaps budding American Idols, will be featured too.

Shepherd native Amber Holcomb has been eliminated, so Texas is putting its hope in Kree.  She's already made us proud, but it would be cool if she wins!
