August Burns Red Unveil ‘Hero of the Half Truth’ Song, Plus News on Sevendust, Liv Sin + More

August Burns Red continue to dig deeper into their upcoming album, Phantom Anthem. Get a listen to the brutally heavy “Hero of the Half Truth” in the player above. The disc drops this Friday (Oct. 6).

Sevendust have tacked on three more shows celebrating the 20th anniversary of their self-titled debut disc. Fans in Houston (Dec. 29, Scout Bar), San Antonio (Dec. 30, Vibes Event Center) and Dallas (Dec. 31, Bomb Factory). Details for all three shows can be found here.

Liv Sin has unleashed a new song called “King of the Damned” via Bandcamp. The song, inspired by a photo of Cecil the Lion, is a call to action for the public to do something about the extinction of the world’s wildlife. The singer is working with Sweden’s Djurens Rätt organization during the campaign.

Wes Borland has finalized the details for his next Big Dumb Face album. The disc is titled Where Is Duke Lion? He’s Dead … and you can see the artwork for the album right here. Look for the Big Dumb Face disc on Oct. 31.

Scorpions will be honored in Los Angeles this Friday (Oct. 6) by the Los Angeles City Council. According to MyNewsLa, the group will attend a special ceremony at the Van Nuys City Hall where it will be declared “Scorpions Day” in L.A. The band is scheduled to play the Forum in Los Angeles on Saturday (Oct. 7).

Deep Purple have gone the animated route for their latest video. Watch the clip for “The Surprising” off their inFinite LP over at Ultimate Classic Rock.

Dance Gavin Dance have announced a December headline tour where they will be playing their Mothership album in its entirety. There will be 10 stops in all and dates can be found here.
