James Franco Teams With ‘X-Men’s Simon Kinberg for ‘Multiple Man’ Spinoff

Multiple Man probably isn’t high on your list of “X-Men characters most likely to get their own standalone movies,” but Fox executives seem to think otherwise. Franchise producer and writer Simon Kinberg is teaming up with James Franco for an upcoming movie based on the Marvel mutant, who has often crossed paths with the X-Men and the Fantastic Four (although we assume the latter group remains off the table for the foreseeable future).

‘The Strangers 2: Prey at Night’ Trailer: Those Creepy Masked Jerks Are Back

Not long after The Strangers was released back in 2008, a sequel to Bryan Bertino’s insanely effective horror thriller was put in development. Almost 10 years later, and the first trailer for that sequel has finally arrived — and it handily diminishes some of our skepticism about the follow-up, which Bertino does not appear to be involved with whatsoever (aside from an original screenplay credit). Instead, the sequel was directed by Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down) and written by Ben Ketai (The Forest).

Lest you forget, there’s a new Star Wars movie hitting theaters in a little over a month, and marketing is in full swing in the lead up to its December 18 release. Two new TV spots have dropped for The Last Jedi — one of which teases the promise of Poe Dameron & Co. burning the First Order to the ground.

Netflix Won’t Confirm Theatrical Release for Martin Scorsese’s ‘The Irishman’

When Martin Scorsese first took his next project to Netflix, it raised more than a few eyebrows. It seemed odd that Scorsese, an outspoken advocate for the theatrical viewing experience and film preservation, would give his new movie to a streaming service. But according to early reports, part of the deal for The Irishman was an agreement to release the film theatrically — giving Netflix a chance to vie for that coveted Oscar and satisfying Scorsese’s artistic integrity. It’s awfully strange, then, that Netflix has yet to confirm a theatrical release for The Irishman.

‘Spider-Man’ Spinoff ‘Morbius’ in the Works Based on Vampire Character

Sony is showing no signs of slowing down their Spidey universe plans following the massive success of Spider-Man: Homecoming. The studio has reportedly added yet another spinoff to their upcoming slate of projects, which includes a Venom movie (directed by Ruben Fleischer and starring Tom Hardy) and Silver & Black (directed by Gina Prince-Blythewood). While those films center around well-known characters in the Spidey-verse, Sony’s next spinoff is based on one that’s a little more…obscure.

First ‘Deadpool 2’ Poster Brings Everyone Together for Thanksgiving

When you gather ’round the table to shove turkey into your face with friends and loved ones, what will you give thanks for? Your career, your relationships, just being alive, or maybe the fact that a wild R-rated superhero movie starring Ryan Reynolds as a mouthy mercenary became such a massive hit that we’re actually getting a sequel. (Don’t say that. Your mom will be pissed.) In keeping with the Thanksgiving holiday spirit, the first poster for Deadpool 2 has arrived, and it’s fully prepped for turkey time.

‘The Raid’ Director Gareth Evans in Talks to Tackle ‘Deathstroke’ for the DCEU

Ever since Matt Reeves took over directing duties for Ben Affleck on The Batman, fans have been wondering what would happen to Deathstroke’s role in the film. Joe Manganiello was set to play the DC Comics character in the solo Batman project, but that was before Reeves came aboard and scrapped the script Affleck wrote with DC’s Geoff Johns. It seems like Deathstroke’s part in the superhero universe isn’t dead after all.

Quentin Tarantino Says He ‘Knew Enough to Do More’ About Harvey Weinstein

Less than a week after Quentin Tarantino released a statement through friend and actor Amber Tamblyn, the filmmaker has finally opened up about Harvey Weinstein. Tarantino’s professional relationship with the former studio executive dates back 25 years to Reservoir Dogs; over the years, it’s transcended business and become personal, as well. And yet, despite knowing about some of the sexual assault and harassment allegations, Tarantino admits that he did nothing.

The recent trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi gave us a pretty hefty preview of the latest chapter in the saga, but amid all that new footage, a few things were missing — chiefly Laura Dern, who plays the violet-haired Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo (what a name!). We’ve seen Dern in costume before, but a new image circulating online gives us a fresh sneak peek at her exciting Star Wars character…and reveals another BB unit.

‘Bright’ Featurette Explains Will Smith’s Gritty Buddy Cop Fantasy, With Orcs and Elves

Hmm…How best to describe David Ayer’s Bright…Well, in the words of the filmmaker himself, this is “really the story of a friendship.” As co-star Noomi Rapace describes it, “It’s L.A. Right now. It just happens to be orcs and elves.” If you’re confused by that, you’re not alone. But this new featurette does its damnedest to lay it out for you: This is a story about racial tensions (but with orcs and elves), a classic buddy cop flick (but with orcs and elves), and a police thriller (you know, with orcs and elves).

How Carrie Fisher Took Revenge on the Studio Executive Who Sexually Harassed Her Friend

There’s a lot to miss about the late, incomparably great Carrie Fisher: Her delightful screen presence, her sharp contributions to screenwriting, her brilliant wit and unapologetic candor, and her advocacy for those suffering from mental health problems and addiction. She was, for lack of a better word, a badass. And the legend of her awesomeness lives on through those who loved her, like Heather Ross — a screenwriter and friend of Fisher’s, who recently shared an amazing story about the time she was sexually harassed by a studio executive, and the artist occasionally known as Princess General Leia exacted revenge on her behalf.
