Bob Seger hasn’t released an album since 2006’s Face the Promise but that’s all about to change.  The rocker spent much of the year on the road, but he gave us an update on the status of his new album.

According to VH1 Classic Rock Nights, Bob says, “I’ve got six [songs] that I really, really like.  I think I’m gonna call it Ride Out, I really like that song.  And my favorite ballad is a ballad called ‘You Take Me In’ which I’ve been working with these Nashville musicians for years now and that’s I think that’s their favorite song that I’ve ever brought in.  So I’m working real hard to finish that but I just need time to write.”

The legendary singer told us when he thinks he’ll find that time.

“Our last date is Seattle on the 28th of January and then we stop dead and then I go into total writing mode from February 1st to, let’s say May 1st or so, write for three straight months and then I’ll go in the studio with the best stuff that I’ve got and finish it.  I think it will be out next fall.”

In the meantime, listen to some of Bob’s classics by getting the recently released album, Ultimate Hits: Rock and Roll Never Forgets.  He’s also currently touring and you can get his dates at BobSeger.com.
