At the time NBC confirmed Hannibal alum Bryan Fuller to be working on a new iteration of Amazing Stories, the showrunner’s plate seemed exceptionally full. Thankfully, Fuller will have strong writers to lighten the load, now confirmed as everyone from Patton Oswalt to Jane Goldman.

It was back in October that Fuller was announced to executive produce and write a pilot script for an hourlong weekly anthology series based on the 1985 Spielberg-produced version, telling “fantastic, strange and supernatural stories.” Development has been quiet since (especially with Fuller concentrating on American Gods), but the showrunner now reveals its first Amazing storytellers to Crave:

We are working on a variety of scripts from a variety of sources, and we’ve got a lot of really great writers involved. So it feels like I’m curating the Amazing Stories magazine and I get to work with Patton Oswalt and Kumail Nanjiani and Emily Gordon and Jane Goldman…

Gordon co-wrote Michael Showalter and Judd Apatow’s The Big Sick with husband Nanjiani, also co-creating The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail in its original form, and on Comedy Central. Goldman frequently co-writes with Matthew Vaughn, including on Kingsman: The Secret Service, X-Men: First Class and Kick-Ass, writing Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children on her own.

Fuller’s Amazing Stories will be produced by Universal Television with Under the Dome alum Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank acting as executive producers. Stay tuned for the latest as it arrives.
