Texas Has 14 Of The Biggest High Schools In The US

I graduated with 12 people in my high school class in Nebraska, so it's hard for me to comprehend a high school where there are three thousands students.  That's huge! Or maybe it's time to admit my little class of six boys and six girls was abnormally tiny.  I graduated at the top of my class, but I don't spend much time telling people I only had 11 people behind me.  Shh...don't tell!  And those that graduated in the top 50 percent were actually in the top six.  That' doesn't happen often.

Texas has some of the biggest high schools in the US, and some of those have more than four thousand students.

Football Fans Are Ready For The Weekend

This is a huge weekend for football fans.

It's opening weekend for the NFL (after last night's kickoff between the Packers and Seahawks), there are big college games already and it's only the second week of the season, and just cuz!  Football fans don't need huge games to sit in the recliner and enjoy a bucket of wings.  We just love football.

An Insane New 4D Batman Roller Coaster is Heading to Six Flags

With Warner Bros. doubling down on 'Batman vs. Superman' and 'Justice League' in the next few years, it makes perfect sense that Six Flags parks would take advantage of the situation and start building new rides named after these iconic characters. And that brings us to Batman: The Ride, which will be opening in San Antonio's Six Flags: Fiesta Texas next year. In short: it looks insane.

Another Texas City Bans Texting and Driving

It's not just texting and driving that Austin is banning, but talking on the cell phone in the car too if the phone is up to the ear.  And if a police officer catches drivers or bicyclists tapping on an app while moving, they can be cited.

Hands-free devices are okay, but even mobile devices like iPads and other tablets fall under the ban now.

What about sitting at stoplights?

So How Much Money Do You Make?

Um, yeah.  Don't answer that ..Yet!

I read an interesting article in the NY Times this week that said because so much information now is out in the open with social media, we may be entering a time when salaries aren't quite as secretive as they have been in the past.

Do you know what your co-workers make?  If not, that may change soon.

Back-To-School Pics Dominate Facebook

I love looking at all the back-to-school pics on social media this time of year.

One of my sassy, fun (and kid-less) Facebook friends posted this on Monday, "Um...Did school start?" Haha! What makes you say that?!

Yeah...maybe we parents are guilty of overloading Facebook with backpack pics, but we don't have anything else exciting going on. Sideways wink!
