Disney’s Gigantic just got a little more interesting, as the studio has promoted screenwriter Meg LeFauve to co-director for the upcoming animated project. The co-writer of Inside Out and Marvel’s Captain Marvel solo movie joins Tangled director Nathan Greno on the new film, which offers an animated reimagining of the classic Jack and the Beanstalk story.

After spending some time working on the Gigantic screenplay, THR reports that LeFauve will now make her directorial debut alongside Tangled helmer Nathan Greno, describing the promotion as similar to Jennifer Lee’s move from screenwriter to co-director on Frozen. In addition to Gigantic, LeFauve’s recent writing credits include Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out and The Good Dinosaur. She’s also co-writing Captain Marvel with Guardians of the Galaxy scribe Nicole Perlman.

Gigantic moves the Jack and the Beanstalk fairy tale to 15th century Spain during what is known as the Age of Exploration, when the adventurous protagonist — with the help of some magic beans — stumbles upon an epic world of giants. At the heart of the story is Jack’s relationship with Inma, a young giant girl, and their journey to defeat the nefarious Storm Giants so she can return home.

The new animated film hits theaters on November 21, 2018 and will feature songs from Oscar-winning Frozen duo Kirsten Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.
