According to Daryl Hall of Hall & Oates, Eddie Van Halen said he copied the synth part from "Kiss on My List", and used it in 1984's "Jump".

Eddie won't be doing much jumping right now, a matter of fact, he's going to need around six weeks to recover from emergency surgery.

The latest trouble to befell the 57 year old singer/guitarist was a bout of diverticulitis, a disease causing painful inflammation in the intestines.  A full recovery is expected.

In 1981, he married "One Day at a Time" star Valerie Bertinelli, making Van Halen more popular as a celebrity than a musician.

Van Halen underwent hip replacement in 1999, and did a stint in rehab in 2007.
