The 'Empty Stocking Fund" has been around for 41 years, and each year volunteers patrol the gates of a selected location collecting money donations to insure that each child in East Texas has at least one present to open on Christmas Day!

This year, the fundraiser heads to Wal-mart in Nacogdoches, commencing on Thursday, November 29 at 8 a.m., and winding up three full days later at 6 p.m. on Saturday, December 1.

Without assistance from our community, and surrounding communities, the Christmas stocking would be..."empty".

Here's my suggestion.  After you have completed your shopping inside Walmart, and let's say that your total bill came to $56.28, pull out a "five" spot and put it in the bucket.  If your total came to $33.08, then "three" one dollar bills should do the job.  You catch my drift, right?  Spend under ten bucks, then simply drop some loose change.

A small price to pay for a big smile on a kid's face.  The "Empty Stocking Fund" can always use volunteers, so 'Tis the season, by calling 936.554.4048.
