Eric Clapton has released a lyric video for "Can't Let You Do It," a track from his forthcoming album I Still Do.

As previously reported, the new album — Clapton's 23rd solo effort — is due to arrive on May 20. The 12-song set, which delivers Clapton's usual blend of originals and covers, serves as what he's called "a long and overdue" reunion with producer Glyn Johns, who helmed some of his bestselling '70s work.

While the bulk of the record finds him working with his usual backing band, including guitarist Andy Fairweather Low and keyboardist/vocalist Paul Carrack, there's at least one special guest. One track on the album, "I Will Be There," features a posthumous vocal and guitar cameo by Clapton's old friend George Harrison.

Rolling Stone offers some behind-the-scenes footage featuring Clapton and Johns discussing the record, which Clapton says gets its title from a conversation he had with his aunt before she died. After he thanked her for putting up with him during his less agreeable moments as a child, she responded, "I like you, and I still do."

"I've worked with lots of really good guitar players, and the difference with Eric is he absolutely very rarely – in my experience with him, anyway – sits and figures something out to the nth degree," added Johns. "Most of it is an emotive response to what he's hearing around him, to what the song suggests, or whatever else. … It goes straight from his heart to his fingers."
