The Foo Fighters are set to end their hiatus to take part in an all-star concert celebrating Tom Petty as the 2017 MusiCares Person of the Year. Petty will be honored on Feb. 10 at the Los Angeles Convention Center's West Hall, during the weekend of the Grammys.

Among those also confirmed for the show are Stevie Nicks, Don Henley, Jackson Browne, Petty's Traveling Wilburys co-hort Jeff Lynne, Randy Newman, Norah Jones and Kings of Leon, with additional acts still to be announced. Petty will close out the evening with a performance leading the Heartbreakers.

Founded in 1989 by the Recording Academy, MusiCares provides assistance for musicians in times of need. The concert serves as a fundraising event.

"I am so very pleased to be honored as the MusiCares Person of the Year,” Petty said in a statement. “I have so much respect for this organization, which really does care about the people in our industry. I myself know many people who MusiCares has aided in desperate situations. Again, let me say this is a true honor."

The MusicCares Person of the Year award has previously been given to Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young and Bob Dylan – the latter of whom was also a member of the Wilburys, along with two late artists, Roy Orbison and George Harrison.

The Foo Fighters went inactive in November 2015, but there have been signs that they might be ready for a return. Dave Grohl led the group through a private charity performance recently.
