In my high school days, Mark Bruchy was one of the "BMOC's" (Big Men On Campus).  Classic Rockers should remember those types of guys.  Always wearing the football jersey on Friday (game day), wearing the letterman's jacket in 90 degree heat.

Admittedly I was jealous, but after seeing old acquaintances at the 10, 20, and 30 year reunion, I reckon I've outgrown my inferiority complex.

Getting back to Mark Bruchy for a moment.  Not only was he a "BMOC", but he was one of the smartest jocks on campus, eclipsing all types of records, in both academics, and sports.  He was also well received by the student population and teachers alike, so it came as no surprise to me that he followed a career in education and became the youngest principal in the district to head up the very school where he spent four years learning the trade.

These days, Mark is still hitting home runs for the High School, making it one of the top 100 educational learning institutions in the Country.

And now the same thing has happened right here in East Texas, where Nacogdoches High School graduate Kenneth Woden proudly takes over the helm at his alma mater.

Somewhere in all this I can just hear Mark Bruchy saying "right on".
