Iggy Pop Says ‘Post Pop Depression’ With Josh Homme Might Be His Last Album

Iggy Pop will soon return with his collaborative album Post Pop Depression, but in a new interview for Noisey and Beats 1, the punk icon suggests it could be his last. "I feel like I'm closin' up after this," he said.

Accompanied by his Post Pop Depression colleagues Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age, Eagles of Death Metal), Dean Fertita (QOTSA, the Dead Weather) and Matt Helders (Arctic Monkeys), Pop continued: “To really make an album, you really have to put everything into it. The energy’s more limited now.”

Pop didn’t rule out the possibility that his “gut instinct” could be wrong though. “Maybe it’ll open a door, but I wanted to make sure I come up with some goods at this point,” the Stooges frontman said. “I’ve got something I can bring, but it’s really about other people I can put together. I’m kind of a fan, too. I like to hang out; I like to be in bands; I like to hang around musicians.”

Post Pop Depression is out March 18 via Loma Vista. Pop and company have already shared album singles "Gardenia" and "Break Into Your Heart." Together, the supergroup will embark on a U.S. tour in March and April. See those dates right here.
