Understanding what makes a healthy relationship is vital to healthy development. The Nacogdoches Recreation Center, Judy B. McDonald Public Library and the Family Crisis Center of East Texas have teamed up to hold the first ever H.E.A.R.T. (Healthy Equitable Acceptable Relationships for Teens) Camp.

The setting will be the Nacogdoches Recreation Center on July 29, 30, and 31 from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM.  Admission is free and open to teenagers who are 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 years old.  Lunch and snacks will be provided.  Registration forms are available at the Nacogdoches Recreation Center, Judy B. McDonald Public Library, and on-line at the Family Crisis Center of East Texas.

The H.E.A.R.T. Camp teaches respectful attitudes and beliefs toward all individuals even when angered by someone else’s actions or words. Long-term studies in schools have shown that this series has reduced episodes of school violence and has created better educational environments for students and teachers.
