Why would the internet go after someone as undeniably awesome as Jackie Chan?

It's a story nearly as old as the internet itself. Like a snowball rolling down the side of a mountain, some jerk decides they're going to kill off a celebrity, and through the power of Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and any number of other social media outlets, we wind up reading stories from the International Business Times confirming that yes, don't worry, Jackie Chan isn't dead.

But why Jackie? And why twice in one year? I thought everybody was on the same page about Jackie Chan: the dude is awesome. He's 59, he's been in over 150 movies, and performed every single one of his own stunts in all of them.

How could you not be a fan of Rush Hour? Or Rush Hour 2? I can totally understand not being a fan of Rush Hour 3 though. Maybe that's why someone wanted to virtually off Mr. Chan.

Either way, Jackie's still around to do cool stuff like this:

What's your favorite Jackie Chan movie? Or favorite martial arts movie in general?
