Rolling Stone has just released their picks for the 100 greatest guitarists of all time.  Perhaps unsurprisingly, Jimi Hendrix tops the list, with Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello providing the reasons why.

Morello told Rolling Stone,  "His playing was effortless," Morello writes.  "There's not one minute of his recorded career that feels like he's working hard at it –- it feels like it's all flowing through him. ...his legacy is assured as the greatest guitar player of all time."  The list was selected by a panel of experts -- and by "experts," Rolling Stone means a who's-who of rock guitarists, including Trey Anastasio, Ritchie Blackmore,  Warren Haynes, Lenny Kravitz, Jerry Cantrell, Kirk Hammett, Nils Lofgren, Eddie Van Halen, Carlos Santana, Carl Broemel, Rich Robinson and dozens more.
