Several concerts are planned to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Woody Guthrie's birth this year, and John Mellencamp will headline one of those. The show happens March 10 in the late folk-music legend's hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Not too far to drive!

The event will be held in conjunction with the Woodie Guthrie Centennial Celebration -- which runs from March 5 to March 11 and also includes an exhibition, a special symphonic concert and a conference at the University of Tulsa. Woody's son Arlo Guthrie will also perform, along with Rosanne Cash, and veteran alt-rockers The Flaming Lips, among others. Tickets will go on sale February 4 at ProTixOnline.com, with prices ranging from $45 to $250.

Washington DC, New York, and Los Angeles are the other spots to see the Guthrie tribute, so this is the lone venture off the coasts. Enjoy!
