Trying to find a "good" spot at Lakeside Park in Nacogdoches on Saturday was a battle within the battle, as children, along with the helping hands of adults, were hosted to a pool of trout.

The 10th annual Nacogdoches "Kid Fish" event put on by the City of Parks and Recreation Department brought the tiny anglers out to a day of free fishin', and while it was relatively cool during the morning hours, the comfort of the day set in with many youngsters experiencing first hand what it feels like to be Jimmy Houston.

Fisherman were available to teach kids how to bait a hook for success, techniques to casting a line, and the proper way to reel in the catch.  Not everyone got huge "bites", but it was all about the experience, and having a FUN day at the edge of the water.
