The show is called "America's Got Talent", and that is exactly what the name implies when unknown singing sensations surpass their initial stage debut, and jet off to the next round of "real" competition.

34 year-old Dave Fenley is a Lufkin Native heading to that illusive round two in Las Vegas after being passed by judges Mel B, Heidi Klum, Howard Stern and Howie Mandel (didn't he host a game show where people had a chance to win on million dollars by opening up suitcases?).

According to Fenley, he's been strummin' and singin' for about a decade now, and has appeared in nightclubs throughout East Texas, most notably Jim Ann's in Lufkin.

Dave resides in Nashville now, and his band called "Jukebox Mafia" has even toured the circuit with country phenom Miranda Lambert.

Look for Dave on the next installment of "America's Got Talent", which should be televised on July 16, but first check out what got him there:
