Keep a watchful eye these days on where you live.  Don't want to scare anyone, but you may want to put caution to the wind and burn the front and rear porch light at night, at least until the serial burglaries in Lufkin can be resolved.

Within an eleven day period between August 17 and 28, Lufkin police have announced 13 reported burglaries.

The areas targeted have been on Tom Temple, River Oak, April Drive, Brassell and Shermell Streets, Hemlock Road, and Oleta Avenue.

So far, no injuries have been reported by citizens who have confronted the burglar on multiple occasions.  He's simply turned around and ran away once being noticed.  The method of operation prior to gaining entry appears to be pulling out cable television and land line telephone wires.

Keep your cell phone handy, and let the dog stay inside tonight.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information leading to the apprehension of the perpetrator.  Someone you know?  639-TIPS!
