20-year old Annabel Rivera is a 2010 graduate of Lufkin High School, who hasn't exactly been taking it easy after high school. She's been attending SFA and pursuing fame and fortune in beauty pageants. She'll compete along with 113 other Texas woman this weekend in the Miss Texas USA Pageant in Houston.

It hasn't been an easy road for Rivera, who became fascinated with pageants after watching them on TV. Once she went through the application process and became accepted, she still needed to raise the money for the registration fee and that wasn't easy. As a student at Stephen F Austin, she's been working three jobs, and the Lufkin Daily News says she is taking a semester off now because of finances. She has a chance at scholarship money in the pageant this weekend, and winning some would go a long way toward getting back to class in the spring at SFA.

If you'd like to watch the Miss Texas USA pageant and cheer Annabel on this weekend, you might have to gather your friends together and pool some money. It will be live on pageantvision.com starting Saturday at 7:30pm and again Sunday at 3pm, but there's a $12 viewing fee.

The winner of the Miss Texas USA pageant will compete for the Miss USA title on June 3 in Las Vegas.

Good luck Annabel!
