Thankfully we are not such a large city that we can't enjoy local youth sporting events.  Yes, we've got the "biggies" in the Rangers, Astros, Mavericks and Rockets, but go to a Little League or Babe Ruth affair, and it's like going back in time to The Cars "The Cars" album.

Even pulled out some old baseball photos when I played LL from '70 to '72.  Pretty awful player too, but it was sure fun to dress up in my "Apache" uniform from American Indian Little League.  That's right, during my three year stint, I played for not only the Apache, but the Choctaw, and the Seminoles as well.  Don't think you could find a league back them with contemporary baseball names.

Here's a huge congrats going out to the Nacogdoches 13U All-Stars.  They won the Ranger Youth Baseball State Tournament last week defeating East Montgomery County 3-2 in a pitcher's duel.

THE CHAMPS:  A.J. DeJean, Carl Schulker, Nolan Graves, Ty Hayter, Damon Garner, Sean Slowikowski, Blake Robinson, B.J. Anderson, Cade Watson, Matthew Taylor, and Coaches, Roger Anderson, Josh Watson, Keith Hayter, and David Robinson (please accept my apology if I missed anyone).
