Here's some news that should excite Grateful Dead fans who like to tipple a little ripple.  A new line of Dead-themed wine has been produced by the Wines That Rock company.

Grateful Dead Steal Your Face Red Blend was created by Mendocino County Wine Co. winemaker Mark Beaman, who says he began the process by listening to the band's 1976 concert album, Steal Your Face.

The 2009 vintage wine features a combination of Syrah, Petite Sirah, Zinfandel and Grenache varietals.  The label features the skull-and-lightning bolt image that appears on the Steal Your Face album.  The wine currently is available at WinesThatRock.com and at more than 1,500 retailers around the world.

Part of the proceeds raised by sales of Steal Your Face wine will benefit the T.J. Martell Foundation cancer charity.  Wines That Rock previously has produced wines inspired by The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, The Police and the Woodstock festival.
