If the prospect of watching thousands of athletes from over 200 countries compete for sporting immortality wasn’t enough to get you watching, there is now another reason for you to turn on the Olympics this week. According to a short teaser that ran during today’s events, NBC will be airing a brand new trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story as part of their Thursday, August 11 evening lineup. Here is the relevant teaser (via Heroic Hollywood).

UPDATE: And now from the official Twitter account as well!

Under normal circumstance, we wouldn’t expect to see a full-length trailer during a live sporting event, but the fact that Disney is running trailers for their upcoming trailer suggests the stakes are a little higher here. This also wouldn’t be the first time that Disney has done something like this. If you’ll remember, Disney teased and then debuted the final trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens during Monday Night Football in 2015, so prepare yourself for a bunch of confused sports fans tweeting about Star Wars and a bunch of confused Star Wars fans tweeting about sports. This never fails to crack me up.

Only one question remains: will this be brand new footage or will Disney finally be showing us the trailer that debuted during Star Wars Celebration last month? Our own Erin Whitney was on-site and provided the following write-up of the trailer; you can read the full article here.

The trailer opens with a little girl running as a ship flies above her. I assume it’s young Jyn, Felicity Jones’ character. Her voiceover plays over the entirety of the trailer. She says: “There isn’t much time. Everyday we grow weaker, and they grow stronger. This is our chance to make a real difference.” There were shots of Imperial officers, Director Krennic from the back, more Donnie Yen fighting. The last shot shows a full-body reflection of Darth Vader on either a shiny black floor of a ship or across a black radar screen with red glares. The whole thing was pretty short, maybe 1:30.

Rogue One: A Star Wars story opens on December 16, 2016.
