New Van Halen out Today

A Different Kind of Truth is the first new Van Halen album in 28 years and it's out today. Is it all recycled old material? Much has been made lately in the media about that.

David Lee Roth has acknowledges that Van Halen did raid their own vaults for some material, but says he reworked the verses and melodies. Some of the material is refreshed older stuff, and Roth says it meets halfway.

If a song hasn't been on an album before and we haven't spent much time listening to it yet, do we really care when it was written? That's up for debate.

A Different Kind of Truth kicks off with a sold-out February 18 show in Louisville, Kentucky. The tour stops in Texas June 20-24 in Dallas, San Antonio, and Houston. Kool and the Gang will open. Really!
