Oscars: Why It’s a $45,000 Honor Just to be Nominated

Which would you rather have - an 8 pound trophy, or a VIP gift bag full of $45,000 worth of loot?

The nominees that don't win on Sunday will have a valuable parting gift delivered on Monday, that includes all this:

A $12,000 trip to Australia, condoms, a $600 acupuncture appointment and a package of 10 personal training sessions valued at $850. Circus lessons for the nominee’s children, a $5,000 facelift procedure, an $1,800 one-year membership to Heathrow Airport’s private VIP service, a $3,000 stay at the St. Regis Punta Mita Resort in Mexico, and Windex.

I have many questions about that list, but Windex? The stars do have lots of glass to clean in those big, fancy houses. And I will now have something in common with Helen Hunt besides the same-shaped forehead. We'll both have lots of Windex! Helen just may win the Oscar for her performance in The Sessions. She was great.
