Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne are reportedly planning to renew their vows — a symbolic way of closing a turbulent chapter in one of rock 'n' roll's longest marriages.

Sharon revealed the news in a recent interview with the U.K. tabloid the Sun, saying (via the Daily Mail) it was all Ozzy's idea. "Ozzy has asked me to renew our wedding vows and I'd like to," she told the paper. "I'm happy and to be honest that's all I want for Christmas this year."

As previously reported, the couple separated in May amid reports that Ozzy had been caught in an affair. They'd publicly reunited by the summer, with Ozzy's publicist attributing his indiscretion to sex addiction and Sharon cautioning, "We’ve survived everything: drink, drugs and now it’s women. … When you’re f—ing a load of women, one of them is going to want more. That’s the one that’s going to get you."

Speaking to the Sun now, Sharon seems to chalk up the whole affair to a case of the marital doldrums — and an example of how hard it can be to balance your home life with a successful career.

"In my life I have been so blessed but when one side of your life is so brilliant other things can suffer. It is hard when you are both successful and both working away," she added. "It is easy to take each other for granted. We have been married for 35 years and been together 38 years. You have to have some ups and downs."
