Piece of Kurt Cobain History on Ebay

If you have an extra $35,000 lying around, you have the chance to own a piece of Nirvana history.

The guitar neck that Kurt Cobain smashed on stage in Brazil on January 16, 1993 is on Ebay now for that lofty price.

How did it get there?

A Venice, California-based music memorabilia dealer called Record Mecca claims to have gotten the neck from Red Hot Chili Peppers’ road manager Louie Mathieu, who had acquired it from L7 bassist Jennifer Finch. In the letter of authenticity that comes with guitar, Mathieu says he owned the neck, and that Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis wrote about Cobain smashing the guitar in his book Scar Tissue.

So far no bids from Courtney Love.

If may cost as much as a car, but they’ll ship the guitar neck for between $9 and $17!
