It's great to hear stories about student-athletes performing for their community off the field/court/diamond/floor.

The SFA Lumberjacks basketball team collected nearly $1,000 for a local food bank called Harvest House.

Each year, during my first three years in radio, I sat atop a tree house in the dead of winter for five straight days, collecting money donations, while raising awareness for the plight of the homeless in my own backyard.

$127 in '76, $198 in '77, and $382 in '78.

You might be thinking that this miniscule performance wasn't worth the time, but you can't always measure success by the total "dollars" received.

Good job team Lumberjack!
