The music world was shocked over the weekend by the tragic death of singer Christina Grimmie. The 22-year-old vocalist had performed in Orlando and was signing autographs in a meet-and-greet when 27-year-old Kevin James Loibl approached her and opened fire. Grimmie's brother Mark tackled Loibl, who also reportedly had a knife and another handgun. The man then killed himself after getting free of the altercation. Grimmie later died from the wounds.

The singer got her big break appearing on Season 6 of NBC's The Voice, where she placed third for the season. Grimmie also later returned to The Voice serving as a correspondent on the style of the contestants in a later season. But even prior to The Voice, she started posting videos to YouTube as a teenager and amassed a large following thanks to her covers of popular music. Her interests didn't lie only in pop, as she covered music from acts like System of a Down and Stone Sour as well.

In the video above, you can see Christina and her brother Mark on guitar playing a cover of System of a Down's "Lonely Day" and giving a shout out to the System guys. Below, you see Grimmie and her brother Mark once again. This time Mark is on guitar while Christina takes on piano as they play Stone Sour's "Through Glass."

Our condolences to the Grimmie family over this horrific tragedy. See more of Christina Grimmie's performances here.
