Last year felt like a particularly tough one when it came to rock star deaths and former (and possibly future?) Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash paid tribute to some of the fallen musicians with a pair of songs during a New Year's Eve show in Las Vegas.

Joined by singer Myles Kennedy (who you may or may not remember from Alter Bridge), Slash honored his former Velvet Revolver bandmate Scott Weiland with a rendition of the modern rock supergroup's 2004 track "Sucker Train Blues." Watch footage above.

The band also paid tribute to Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister, who died of cancer on Dec. 28, by playing the metal institution's classic "Ace of Spades." Slash prefaced the homage by calling Weiland and Kilmister "these amazingly talented, f---ing original, character-driven f---ing personalities."

Of course, Slash might be much more on the radar again if rumors of a Guns N' Roses reunion prove true.
