Steven Tyler and Carrie Underwood To Team Up For Super Bowl Concert
Steven Tyler will once again be a part of the Super Bowl festivities. The Aerosmith rocker and country superstar Carrie Underwood are teaming up to play a ‘CMT Crossroads’ special during the “Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam” on Super Bowl weekend.
The concert is a private event, but CMT will air it on Feb. 4 at 11PM ET. So if you’re not exactly stoked about Madonna singing ‘Material Girl’ during the halftime show, DVR this and make your own halftime excitement.
Underwood and Tyler first played together at the American Country Music Awards last April, singing Aerosmith’s ‘Walk This Way’ and Underwood’s ‘Undo It.’ Fans and critics loved the pairing, making an encore an easy decision once the two superstar’s calendars could sync up. This show will originate from the Pepsi Coliseum at the Indiana State Fair Grounds. Super Bowl XLVI is in Indianapolis, Ind. this year.
Other classic rockers who’ve performed on CMT’s genre-blending series include Bon Jovi, Robert Plant, Def Leppard and the Doobie Brothers. According to ESPN, Tyler will also sing the National Anthem before this weekend’s AFC Championship (Jan. 22) between the New England Patriots and the Baltimore Ravens.
