The long-awaited Stevie Nicks documentary 'In Your Dreams' has finally been scheduled for a theatrical release. The film, which records the making of the Fleetwood Mac singer's solo album by the same title, will debut in more than 50 theaters in North America on April 2.

Nicks collaborated with Dave Stewart of Eurythmics fame for the album, which was released in May 2011. She allowed cameras to follow her around for the documentary, which not only chronicles the creative process for the record, it also offers a fascinating glimpse into Nicks' private life.

The film intersperses shots from the singer's scrapbook and pictures from her childhood, as well as backstage and performance shots taken over the course of her entire career. Celebrities like Mick Fleetwood and Reese Witherspoon also appear in cameos, and the film shows Nicks in such private settings as dinner parties, costume parties, tap dancing and more.

'In Your Dreams' has already played at a number of top film festivals, and it will screen this Thursday (March 14) at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, and again at the Toronto International Film Festival on April 15. Nicks will be on hand at both of those screenings for question-and-answer sessions. She also kicks off Fleetwood Mac's summer tour on April 4.
