This weekend, the old Peking location become the focus of attention once again. When I drove by, this is what I saw.

A long time Nacogdoches County lawman was killed Friday morning in a tragic accident. The Nacogdoches Sheriff's Department has issued a statement.

As a man involved in an accident left the scene he ended up smashing into two other parked vehicles, and he admitted to police that he got high on PCP before getting behind the wheel. It had to have happened in another state, right? Nope, right here in East Texas.

Two persons were killed Thursday night when a Mount Pleasant school bus returning from a track meet in Paris, Texas was involved in a 3-vehicle collision on Highway 271.

At least two plane crashes made headlines in Texas this week, and one pilot miraculously walked away.  The others weren't so lucky.

UPDATE (8/10/15 9:10 AM): Initial reports stated that the airplane that crashed was meant to carry a banner to prank the Dallas Cowboys, but that has been found to be false.

Last Thursday's bridge collapse on I-35 between Dallas and Austin had drivers taking a detour through Salado that added at least 30 minutes to the trip.  One person died in the accident.  And now there are more details about what might have caused it.

If you've spent any time on I-35 between Dallas and Austin, you know it's one of the most congested stretches of roadway in the entire country.  When any type of accident happens is ties up the roadway for miles.  With Thursday's bridge collapse, drivers were taking a detour through Salado that added at least 30 minutes to the trip.  Here's what happened.

On the way to Houston, have you used State Highway 105?  It goes through Montgomery County and runs just west of Conroe.  After a bad accident that injured 5 Texas A&M students Sunday night, there's a renewed call to widen the road.

No one in the band was hurt, but the tour bus for Dropkick Murphys hit a pedestrian near Austin, and the man died at the scene on Sunday. Police are working to figure out if the man just happened to be crossing the road, or if it was a suicide.

A bad accident Wednesday night claimed the life of an Austin woman, and Stephen F Austin said she was on her way to freshman orientation.

This is an unfathomable story. Two vehicles got into a head-on collision this week on an unlined County Road in North Texas, and the drivers happened to be a man and a woman who had gotten married recently.  The crash killed both the husband and the wife, and left three kids without parents.
