“We can let you guys see her for a few minutes right now, but after this, you’re going to have to take turns in the NICU because of COVID.”

In my last blog about JJ Watt, he was getting distracted by a cheeseburger at a press conference.  This post is really different, and frankly has a lot more meat to it.

Chances are, you know someone who has benefited from the NICU - that's Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit. I have two friends in Dallas who gave birth to baby boys that needed a little extra help getting started in life.  One spent a month in the NICU, and one spent nine days there.  Both are doing just fine now!  One is 7 now and the other just turned 2.  They started out their lives hooked up to tube

When I go to the fair, I'm constantly amazed at the new sites that typically turn a vacant dust bowl into a sprawling metropolis for ten days or so. Not withstanding the carnie rides of death and games that seem impossible to conquer, there are two sensations that draw humans to the fairgrounds.  Nope, not seeing and touching, but rather, smelling and hearing.

The Allman Brothers Band closed a 10-night residency at the Beacon Theatre in New York City on Sunday night, and were forced to play parts of two of those shows without frontman and founder Gregg Allman. Allman walked off stage in pain on Saturday night and was taken to a local hospital.
