Gene Simmons recently sat down for a Google+ Hangout video chat about what's in store for Kiss over the next several months. And not so surprisingly, the Demon says there are some awesome things coming from the band.
You might love the music of Kiss, and you might even be one of the band's biggest fans. But you're probably nowhere near as passionate (or whatever you want to call it) as the person who just dropped nearly a quarter of a million dollars for a piece of Gene Simmons' used chewing gum.
Kiss descended upon the Midwest last weekend for the Rock Fest in Cadott, Wis., and their set Saturday (July 20) included more than the classic hits and a giant, fireball-spewing spider fans have come to expect.
Diners at the new Rock & Brews in Torrance, Calif. might not have recognized the famous owners of the eatery as they took the stage. Kiss played with out makeup and costumes for about 20 minutes during the grand opening on Wednesday (May 8).
It isn't a song that often comes up when American fans are talking about Kiss' greatest hits, but the 1980 single 'Shandi' enjoyed a healthy chart life in Australia, and the band still plays it whenever they visit the continent on tour -- as they did Saturday night (March 16), in a performance that had greater meaning than usual.
Over the last four decades and counting, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of Kiss have elevated making money while making music into an art form -- and as evidenced by their latest business venture, their partnership shows no signs of slowing down.
Founding Kiss drummer Peter Criss has been admirably up front about his struggle with breast cancer, working steadily over the last several years to help educate men about the risks and warning signs associated with the disease, and his efforts have not gone unnoticed; in fact, Criss is the recipient of this year's Humanitarian of the Year Award from the American Cancer Society.
