Only yesterday, Vince Neil was telling the media that the Motley Crue’s upcoming Vegas romp might be the start of their farewell. Now today, word comes in from bassist Nikki Sixx that, though a farewell may be in the cards at some point, it might be a long goodbye.
Through the years, Motley Crue has spent a lot of time rocking Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood, Calif., with the legendary Whisky A Go-Go club among its many haunts.
So if any band deserves to be honored at the 2011 Sunset Strip Music Festival, it’s the Crue. The tribute, set for Aug. 18, is going to involve real whiskey: special-edition bottles of Jack Daniel’s, with proceeds going to a charity that’s very dear to one Crue member.
