Kaufman is about 135 miles away from Nacogdoches. Two months ago, Kaufman County Assistant District Attorney Mark Hasse was shot and killed on his way from the parking lot to his office. The investigation is ongoing. This past Saturday, Hasse's boss, Kaufman County DA, Mike McLelland and his wife, were shot and killed inside their home.

Nacogdoches County is reacting, and ordering some security assessments as we speak.

The Applebee's Neighborhood Grill and Bar always tries to remain true to its name by decorating the interior to match the area that it's in. Sometimes you see murals of local baseball and football teams on the restaurant's walls, along with recognizable scenes of area lakes and picnic spots, water towers, and other landmarks.

One East Texas city will talk about bringing an Applebee's to town at a meeting on Monday.
