A new Applebee's restaurant is being planned for one East Texas city.
The Applebee's Neighborhood Grill and Bar always tries to remain true to its name by decorating the interior to match the area that it's in. Sometimes you see murals of local baseball and football teams on the restaurant's walls, along with recognizable scenes of area lakes and picnic spots, water towers, and other landmarks.

Man, remember the days before computers? How did we survive? I remember that every document that required type-written entries was a pain in the butt to do a second time if needed.
Let's say for example you simply wanted to update your Resume. HA! You'd have to re-type it all over again, and then after the "do over", you'd find another pertinent group of words that needed inclusion. In went the typing paper for the...third time!

January 15 was a brutally cold day here in East Texas, and with freezing rain and sleet making travel treacherous, it was refreshing to see Public Works in action.
You have heard the saying "coming to a theater near you", and sometimes when watching the movie trailer, you can't wait to see the flick, right?
Well, that's been changed this week to "coming to an East Texas gas station near you", and if you don't want your automobile to experience trauma on the magnitude of a crowded hospital emergency room, then remember that this gas station picture is called "E-15", and according to AAA reports, you should "steer" clear at all cost.
Raise your hand if you watch PBS? Admittedly, I don't have my channel selector focused on public television, but a change is imminent. Why? Primarily because Nacogdoches just hit the lottery!
Now this may not be a national event, but sometimes you can find those not so popular venues and make a family outing out of them.
Case in point is the 4th annual Old Fashioned Sweet Tooth Sugarcane Event, scheduled this Saturday (January 12) in Nacogdoches.
There is a water watch in Nacogdoches, but after the next two days of storms, expecting to drop three plus inches of rain in East Texas, you may not need to water your lawn in the very near future.
