It’s good to be proud of where you’re from, as Paul Stanley of Kiss often says on stage. That goes doubly so during the Olympics, where nationalism can take on all forms. On Friday (Aug. 10), the Australian synchronized swimming team performed to a medley of AC/DC tunes.
Just over 45 years ago, the Beatles told us “there’s nothing you can do that can’t be done” — and it surely felt that way for the fans and competitors in attendance at the Olympics on Saturday (August 4), when the stadium joined together in a massive singalong rendition of ‘All You Need Is Love.’
Former Beatle and living legend Paul McCartney is no stranger to stadium gigs and fat pay checks. However, for his recent performance at this past Friday’s 2012 London Olympics Opening Ceremonies, the ‘Yesterday’ singer was kind enough to donate his time for a whopping one pound.
