It may look like certain drivers are doing something illegal behind the wheel, but it turns out it's perfectly legal in Texas.  And it feels so rebellious!

Hopefully, the scene from above won't be something that we see around Deep East Texas throughout the day and evening on Tuesday, but severe storms are expected, especially in those areas just south of Lufkin and extending towards Houston and Beaumont.

We'll have great weather at times this week, and you might be looking for things to do outside to make the most of it.  Like eat!  Food can be even more fun when it's sunny and 75 and there's a great view to go along with the sandwiches and chips. See if you agree that these are the best picnic areas in Texas.

Each year on February 2nd we have to sit around and wait on Punxsutawney Phil in Pennsylvania to know whether we're going to have more winter, or if spring will come early.  Texas has apparently had enough of that nonsense, and that's why we're answering with Bee Cave Bob, the Armadillo.

The average temperature for East Texas in January is 51, and in February it's 53. The predictions are we'll be under those average temperatures for the rest of winter.  Except for today!

Overall, the Fall season across East Texas has been rather dry.  Parts of the Pineywoods have actually been classified back into a moderate to severe drought.

Tornado season in East Texas usually falls from March through May, but, those that have lived in the Pineywoods for a while know that the threat of tornadoes in November and December is not out of the ordinary.

It's been a while since we've had any kind of 'exciting' weather across the Pineywoods.  That may change come Tuesday.

My dog would high five this dog and say Amen. A friend of mine was staring at her phone and couldn't stop laughing, and I asked her what in the heck was so funny.  This dog!  She shared it with me, and I am sharing with you.  Pet owners will relate.

If it feels hotter than usual, it's true. Last month was the hottest June on record in Lufkin, and meteorologists don't see any signs of that changing.

Texas has 15 of the 30 hottest cities in the US, with more than 100 days each year above 90. Ouch! The hottest city in America has average temps of 106 in July.  Any guess what city that is?  And see what Lufkin's average summer temp should be.

After all the rain and thunderstorms last week, it's nice to see the sun and 90 degrees this week.  And we know 100 isn't far off.  Summer in Texas is great for hanging out at pools and lakes, but there are things to watch out for too.  Here's our big heads up.
