Texas Country Singer Shares Good Fortune With Wives of Military Personnel
Operation Homefront is a national nonprofit organization with 4,000 plus volunteers in its arsenal. The group provides emergency and financial assistance to the families of service members and wounded warriors, and since its inception in 2002, has assisted more than three quarters of a million people.
Texas Music Award Winner Lou Ann Petty is the Texas Music Award Winner, of Winners Circle Country Music Publishing, which is partnered with Operation Homefront. Her song entitled “Soldier’s Wife”, has been nominated for 2013 Song of the Year by the Academy of Texas Music.
The song resolves to find resilience and sacrifice in a military household, whereby the wife is the conduit of the family, holding it together for a return celebration.
Having strong ties to the military, with multiple family members having served, a substantial portion of download fees subscribing to Petty’s music, will go directly to Operation Homefront Texas.
“The debt we owe our military families is one that simply cannot be repaid, but using this song to provide funds that might otherwise be unavailable is one small way to say thank you,” said Petty.
