The Texas Renaissance Festival happens every fall outside of Houston, and Texans aren't the only ones who look forward to it.  It's #1 in a new nationwide poll.

Readers of USA Today voted the Texas Renaissance Festival the best cultural festival in the US.  KHOU says the criteria included travel-worthiness, chance to broaden horizons and ability to introduce people to try new things and connect with others.  A Louisiana festival also made the Top 10.

Oh those Renaissance Festival Scotch Eggs!  Who doesn't love a hard-boiled egg wrapped in sausage and deep fried, then smothered in mustard.  And don't even get us started on the turkey legs.  And the Renaissance Festival has watermelon on a stick and pineapple on a stick.  There's nothing better than eating something on a stick while watching two horse riders try to poke each other with bigger sticks.  That's also known as the joust.

This year's Texas Renaissance Festival starts October 10 and lasts until November 29.  See you there Lords and Ladies!  Thousands from around the country will probably be joining us.
