It came and went with very miniscule resistance, as well it should have.  The final vote for approval by the Texas House of Representatives was overwhelming.

The final tally was 28 to 3 in favor of a plan to train teachers currently licensed to carry firearms - something I'm sure on many educator's minds following the senseless tragedy in Newtown, Massachusetts in December of last year - that took the lives of 26 people, 20 of then children.

The new law would apply to traditional public schools and charter campuses not already being protected by armed security.

The bill is expected to be signed by Governor Perry when it lands on his desk.
