Bobby Johnson was only a year and a half old when the natural gas explosion ripped through a New London, Texas schoolhouse on March 18, 1937, killing nearly 300.

Mr. Johnson has since turned the tragedy into a two act play that first got recognition back in the 2004-2005 season at the Lamp-Lite Theater in Nacogdoches.  His first instinct was to write a book about that horrible day, however, he was right in his assumption that others would pen the tale, hence Johnson took it to the theater instead.

Calling his production "A Texas Tragedy", a book signing will take place on Friday, July 27 between 9:00 a.m. and noon at Bancorp South, 2400 North Street in Nacogdoches.
