Funeral arrangements have been announced for the Nacogdoches deputy killed Friday morning in the line of duty, and they're expecting a large number of people to turn out and pay their final respects.

Just before 7 am Friday, a bad accident happened on Highway 259 north of Central Heights in Nacogdoches, and it claimed the life of Deputy Raymond Bradley (Brad) Jimmerson.

The Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Department said in a statement that "Jimmerson was struck and killed while attempting to remove debris from the roadway on US Highway 259, approximately 7 miles north of Nacogdoches. Deputy Jimmerson was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Kerry Don Williamson."

KTRE reported it was an eerie feeling Friday morning at the sheriff's department offices with only one person holding down the fort.  Everyone else rushed to the scene of the accident after word spread that they had lost one of their own.

Funeral arrangements have been pending with Laird Funeral Home, and they've announced the funeral will be Wednesday at 2 pm at First Baptist Church in Nacogdoches with Bro. Sonny Scarborough officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Tuesday, October 9th at First Baptist Church in Nacogdoches.

Deputy Jimmerson had been with NCSO for 19 years and in Law Enforcement for over 20 years.

State troopers are continuing their investigation into the cause of the accident, and we continue to offer thoughts, prayers, and condolences to the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Department.
