By the end of today, many a crisis in the world will manifest into larger issues, while some will be averted, and others will simply diminish altogether.  But the war on Cancer remains a stable crisis, requiring constant vigilance to overcome enormous battle fatigue.

The Pineywoods Cattle Baron's "media kickoff luncheon" here in Lufkin last week was yet another reminder of how the "C" word affects us.  You see, my own father was struck down by cancer 13 years ago to the date.  His staff of medical professionals insisted that each day brings new progress and hope thanks to those who have dedicated their lives to finding a cure.

That's where the Pineywoods Cattle Baron's Gala and the American Cancer Society team up.  Your generosity during the silent auction, live auction, or bid board, among other things, will ensure cancer patients receive Peer Support, Wigs & Head Coverings, and Transportation Assistance for treatment.
